Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ: Penalty Box

  • What is the penalty box? - Top

Just like in the game of hockey, the penalty box is a way of taking someone out of the competition for violating the rules. Violating rules does not ensure time in the penalty box. Additionally, different levels of rule violations result in different amounts of time in the penalty box. During the period of time a player in the penalty box, that player cannot play in either regular or tournament play.

  • How do I get out of the penalty box? - Top

Your account will automatically be removed and reactivated for you after your time in the penalty box is expired.

  • Can I play on other Ladders while in the penalty box on one? - Top

Yes, you can only not play on Ladders on which you are in the penalty box.

  • What does 'in the penalty box for three days' mean? - Top

It means that for three days from the time that the player was placed in the penalty box, that player cannot report losses nor can anyone report a loss to that player.

  • How come my rank dropped while I was in the penalty box? - Top

You cannot report losses or gain wins while you are in the penalty box, but others are still active and playing. Everytime someone moves above you in rank, your account will slide down one rung as always.

  • How do I appeal the decision to put me in the penalty box? - Top

Submit your appeal via the "Support" link on the left-hand side of your Ladder's page explaining why you feel your placement in the penalty box is not justified.

  • Can I sign up a second account to play with while I'm in the penalty box? - Top

No, and if you are found to have multiple accounts all of them will be removed from the Ladder immediately with no questions asked. If you are in the penalty box, you violated the rules and you would be better spending your time going over the rules to avoid future consequences of a similar nature.
