Shall this be added to the rules? Game Play Purposefully holding the ball or running around with the ball in the outfield to bait a runner into advancing is illegal. There are times when a fielding animation takes over and causes a delay in the throw and this cannot be controlled. Once fielded the ball should immediately be thrown in to the cut-off man or base. If while holding the ball or running around waiting for the play to end a runner's attempt to advance you should let him advance without a play. Always try and throw the ball in once it's caught by the outfielder.
