I would pass but not for the reasons given in a or c. If you have 26 meld and partner has 10, then you need a 39 pull to make the bid. Possible but not likely. Even if opponents make 70, if you save you win so I would pass looking for a save. If you have the power to pull 39, you will probably save in opponents suit anyway.
: But use this one. Change answer d. from LHO to RHO as LHO already passed. Thanks....
: This question was a real live event. After the response's are in, I'll let you know what happened and why. ===============================================
: Its the 8th hand of a tournament. You are ahead by 65 points.
: : The RHO deals, you got an 8 card run, aces, or a total of 26 meld, with out the run. you give your partner 30 meld by bidding 53. The LHO Passed, your partner bids 54, the RHO bids 70.
: : What would you do?
: : a. Pass, hoping the RHO is trying to force you to bid higher.
: : b. bid 75 thinking your partner has 10 meld
: : c. Pass, hoping your partner will bid 75.
: : d. Bid 75 thinking the LHO will go 80?
