We bring good news.

We have FINALLY found a new place to play the CD Rom version of Clue.

It's practically identical to how the Zone was. You get the initial chat room, the smaller chat rooms from which you launch the game, private messaging, and zms. (only these open up like a tiny chat window - they're actually better) In short, ALL the features from the Zone are here.

Ian and I played a game, and we had no problems - no crashes, and no cases of the dreaded fatal error that plagued us in the old days.

To play, you need to download the programme. You can get this at http://www.xmpchat.com.

Once you are at the site, if you go to "downloads", and select "XMPchat client 0.2.7 Installer", you can download it. Once you start the programme, you'll get a self explanatory option to register your name. Then you'll see a room list - Clue will be there, and you can enter the room.

You can start a game by going to the "Room" option, and pressing "Create Room". Thereafter, you can select the options you want, (i.e.: how many players/if you want a password on your game) and after pressing Ok, your game room will appear on the screen so other players can join you.

You start the game by pressing "Launch game"¨ under the "Room" menu. The CD then loads in exactly the same way it did with the Zone. One very important thing to remember is the players not hosting the game MUST select "Ready" status from the "Room" menu, else you'll not connect to the host. A tick appears next to your name if youˇ¦ve done it correctly.

And that's about it really. I'm not sure how many people will find their way to the new place, but Ian and I are spreading the word. (he was too lazy to post here :p) It would be great if we could revive this ladder again, and perhaps relive some of the memories of old. :)

So here are some words I thought I'd never type again: "I hope to see you in the mansion!"
