There are two proposals in the voting booth for you all to vote on. One is a new rule and one is a rule change. Please take a look at these and vote. the following will be sent you all of the ladder members in a newsletter to help explain things. Feel free to post comments/questions here on these rules.

There are two rule changes being placed in the voting booth. Here is how they will affect the ladder, if passed.
New Rule
Consecutive Matches: A person can play against another person twice in a row before playing against another person. Once you have played a player twice you may not play against that player for the next match. Each person is responsible for their own compliance. Matches are not considered back to back if they are played on different days. All players must leave the game table and obtain the next match by following the first come first serve and challenge rules.

This rule is designed to get players to switch up who they partner with and play against rather than only playing with or against the same players and then leaving for the remainder of the day. It could potentially result in more game play, open up the ladder to new players who currently have a tough time getting games, and get players to partner with people they do not normally partner with.
To see how it will work I have an example:
Players A & B play against C & D in game 1.
Players A & C then play against B & D in game 2.
Players A & D then play against B & C in game 3.
At this point each player has played against each of the other 3 players twice.
If you have a partner you particularly enjoy playing with, you can certainly continue to do so but it will require some care to be sure you can play as many games as possible while still not violating this rule. If the ladder gets more players it will make it easier to play without this rule coming into effect in your games. This rule will only make things challenging if there are very few players playing.

Rule Change
Current Rule
3 Matches Per Day: You can only play the same person 3 times each day. You can play as many different people as you'd like on any given day.
Proposed new rule
5 Matches Per Day: You can only play the same person 5 times each day. You can play as many different people as you'd like on any given day.
This is fairly straightforward. It expands the number of times you can play against a particular opponent in a day from 3 to 5. It could potentially result in more game play in the ladder.

Note: It is possible for both rules to pass the voting booth, or for only 1 of them to pass, or for neither of the rules to pass. The thinking on the part of your Op Team was for both to pass to get the most out of changing things around and opening up the Ladder to more game play.
