: : Greetings fellow Ladder Members. I have only been a member of the Wildcards Ladder a short time. I have played with a few of you, both in Gin and Pino, My two Interests. While I am doing better in Pino than Gin, this is mostly due to the fact that the Pino tourneys begin a bit later than the Gin tourneys. As a newbie to the Ladder, I have a couple of Questions regarding the capabilities of the Tourney Directors.
: : Firstly, I am curious as to HOW a TD has access to MY E-MAIL ADDY. Do all TD's have this info ?? Is this not a violation of Case's stated Privacy Policy? If it is Not, where is it posted that Tourney Directors have access to this Info ??
: : Secondly, since I have entered a few Tourneys, How is it Possible that a TD can set-up TWO Tourneys, (different games) to run on the Same Night, an Hour apart?? I have yet to enter a Tourney that lasted less than an hour. Are there such ??
: : Thirdly, This strange Dispute regarding Big-Al-13 as Head TD. While I was not present for the dispute on the Night in Question, I was there a bit later, in the Pino Tourney. I did WONDER a lot when I got an E-Mail from a Baccaract1@aol.com, how this person got My ADDY, to send the invite. As I was not and am not registered on the Spades Ladder, It did not cross My mind to WONDER, at the time, How a TD was to Host Two Tourneys at the same time. {True, they were to begin an Hour apart, yet I have yet to see a tourney last less than an Hour.} When I did sign up for the Pino Tourney, and go to the clubhouse, most, if not all of the FOOFORAW Between Bacc1 and Big-Al was over, as I was not subject to any dispute when I got there. I did not notice at the time, whether the Spade Tourney was in fact running or not. My Question here is, if It was in fact ongoing, How was Bacc1 supposed to devote himself/herself (??) to either one?????? It is an assumption of Mine, (possibly incorrect) that a TD is there to run and focus on the Tourney at Hand. If I have read any of the Posts concerning all this mess correctly, it seems Bacc1 was upset because Big-Al posted and started another Tourney too soon to the beginning of the Spade Tourney?? Thereby Pulling any interested players away from the Spade Tourney?? Strange !!!!!! I would not even have Known of the Spade Tourney, withput the E-Mail invite I received. From My own personal experience, I go to the WC Gin and Pino Pages to look for a Tourney to enter into. I assume (possibly incorrectly again) that most players interested in signing up for a Tourney, go to that Ladder and look for one, then sign up for it, if they find one.
: : Last But Not least, A Personal Observation.
: : I SHALL GLADLY ENTER INTO ANY TOURNEY BEING HOSTED BY BIG-AL, as I know Before Hand that He is a Fair TD, and that the Tourney He is Hosting, Has His Attention. Sadly, I shall also have to State, there are one or two TD's that I shall not Enter a Tourney with Them as Host. It is My feeling, that if a TD has Taken the time to set-up a Tourney, and Desires My attendance, then That TD should be present at all times, while the Tourney is Running !!! I do not mind the disconnects, they happen to ALL of us, from time to time. Yet when there is a question of a possible DQ in the Final round of the Tourney, I expect that If I can SEE the TD's Nick in the Clubhouse, that the TD answer a Call from the Players affected by the Question. We, the Players should not need to resort to ICQ or other messaging programs to get a TD's attention. To this Particular TD's credit, that was the only Fault I found in the way they handled the Tourney. The posting of the results was very quick, and accurate.
