This is from the WildCard Forum from Doc Doom

Ok Wildcards players ... here is a brief announcement regarding the new version (v3.0) of
Wildcards on Playnet.com which is just finishing in-house testing.

I plan on finalizing the code to where it is stable and won't go crashing your computers or
be unstable. I want you to be able to use it like you do the current version (v2.5) and to
have fun with it.

When I am sure it is stable, we are going to release it as a "beta" version so that you can
test it out, try and break it, etc..

There might appear a few things, bugs, etc.. that is what we want to find, if there are any
we have missed. There will be a feedback/reporting page at the new Wildcards site (also
about to be released) and the old site will be dissappearing at that time.

After you, the players, have done with it, we will address whatever we have found out
together (hopefully we will find nothing, optomistic yes I know and then compile a new
release (v3.1) and the fun really begins.

Along with the release of this beta "test" version will come the new Wildcards site, with a
new look, but with all the features of the old plus a few new features to better support
your player community. This is why things have taken so long, it is the integrated support
and community enhancements that have, along with some new network and server
technology ... meant such a long delay in getting the new version out to you.

The new game must run WITH these new features and site support, it is an integrated
package and much more than just the game as you have come to know it.

While we are going to traet this as a "test" phase, it will be quite stable and is more to
see what happens in the real world rather than here in our "development" world, and it
should prove to be close to if not actually at release point when you see it.

Feedback will be welcomed and I might even be able to incorporate some of that into the
later "real" v3.1 release .. and that is just another strong reason for me to offer you
players the opportunity to "test" release the new v3.0 game before we wrap it as "good to
go" to the wider world where your new Wildcards players will be coming in from.

I can't give you a date (for reasons we should all know by now) but since it is known
"officially" as a beta release for testing outside this office, I can probably speed it up a bit
rather than waiting for it to appear "perfect" which would take longer.

Expect more news THIS WEEK, and yes, you can hold me to that if I don't give you more
news THIS WEEK.

Doc.
Wildcards Development Project Manager.
