Top Ten Rules and player availability

I have observed with interest the discussions that have occurred in this forum. I have also watched with interest the dwindling number of matches that have taken place over the past few days.

I have a dilemma regarding TOP TEN rules and players being available to play when i am. Unlike many on this ladder i am in the southern hemisphere and find it challenging to get a match at the best of times.
What concerns me is that as rank 4 i will probably lose rank because i cant make a challenged time from either my up or dwn challengers. Surely this rule must be thought out by ladder ops. It is unworkable unless you are prepared to be playing backgammon at 3 am in ausralia. I'm hoping this concern canbe adressed fairly for all players worldwide
