I am sorry that you do not like the new tournament calendar. If you have any specific suggestions for how to improve it, please feel free to submit a support mail with them, and we will make sure that they are given to the redesign team.
In the meantime, hopefully some of these tips will help you use the calendar more effectively, though. :)
You mention that you don't like clicking the "Next" button to get to the tournaments that you want to see. I understand your dislike of this design aspect, but it is something that has to be there, for server performance reasons. However, if you use the search options on the calendar, you can easily start browsing at the point you want to jump in at.
For example, let's say that it's 5pm, and you want to see all the tournaments that are happening for the next 2 hours. Simply choose 5pm as the "earliest time" and choose 7pm as the "latest time" and only those tournaments will show up.
You also mentioned how long the page takes to refresh if you want updated information. The tournament calendar is designed so that you don't ever have to refresh the whole page to get updated information. Simply run your same search again by clicking the "Search Calendar" button another time. This will update the results to reflect any updates to the information.
I realize that there's no way to refresh the main-page calendar at this time. However, there is a ticket in to add a "Refresh" option to it, so that the whole page will not have to be refreshed if a new tournament is scheduled. :)
I hope this information is helpful to you! :)
