Question about team ladders

I'm new to team ladders and just joined one. i have a friend who joined with me and doesnt like emails. the team captain told us theres no way to exempt team mates from emails. i find that strange since there is a way to exempt yourself from admin newsletters but no to exxempt from captain emails. we are talking she emails the team every time someone passes gas and it just feels up your inbox.
