"Dr. Cameron, could you please use "comely" in a sentence?"
"Certainly."
"It was my privilege to delouse the netsuke on the comely geisha," noted the exterminator comelily.
: I don't find anything strange here at all. What does ones daily vocabulary have to do with playing scrabble? COMELY is simply not part of my vocabulary, I would use a whole hosts of synonyms such as... attractive, beautiful, good looking, lovely, pretty, etc. It's simply NOT a word I use nor do I ever recall anyone ever using it with me in a game of scrabble or in real life.
: To say I cited it as a word I didn't know is inaccurate, I said it just didn't sit well with me (my choice of words) and was curious as to its real meaning. If that is beyond logic, then so be it!
: : The above is why this is all so strange. To want to play scrabble you have to have more than a Dick and Jane vocabulary. Comely is such a basic word. To cite it as an example of a word you didn't know is just beyond all logic.
