: I have been a proud member of this ladder for over two years...I may not get to play much as I would like; as my daughter, my husband, my job and my homework from nursing school take a lot of my time. But, I try to come around for a game every now and then, and more often than not, I end up in the "regular" room, as there are no available players in the Ladder Room. Tonight, I was thrilled to see 17 players in the room! I enter and I am even more excited to find an opponent very easily.
: BRTritchy enters my game and off we go after a brief exchange of pleasantries. The game heats up pretty quickly, and I must admit that Maven is generous with me, the Z, the J, a couple of S's and a blank all within the first handful of turns. There is no chat, which as an NSA tournament player I don't object to; I am concentrating on my game.
: BRTitchy plays, HORNRIM, which I challenge. It comes off the board. I get ready to place my next letters, and BOOM!, BRTitchy has been discoed. Or so I think.
: I wait patiently in the lobby for BRTitchy to return. He/she does and I send a ZM:
: SadieChamp: "What happened?".
: BRTitchy: "You got your win, I reported."
: SadieChamp: "What?? You reported??"
: BRTitchy: "I knew you looked up HORNRIM and you were cheating. So I reported."
: SadieChamp: "You can't handle playing someone who actually KNOWS a phony? Thanks for the game, you are a real sport."
: BRTitchy: F&*K You Too.
:
: BRTitchy: What the hell are you ^@*!#ing about, you got your win?
: SadieChamp: Thanks for the game, hope to play soon.

: I may not have been around much lately, but I am guessing it is people like this that have driven players away.
: Not only do I not appreciate being called a cheater (If I may say so myself, I think my NSA rating speaks for itself: It is pretty evident that I can work my way around a Scrabble board without the help of a Franklin!)
: But, THEN to be sworn at by some sort of sore-sport loser? I don't think so. It is sad that our Ladder has come to this.

How unfortunate for you sadie and I am sorry to hear what happened to you. I know I have drastically cut my time in the ladder room due to the obvious players that come out of their game while playing and when I zone them as to why they are out of a game while actively playing they tell me that the zone has been acting crazy lately. It never acts crazy with me like that. And I have had some pretty wild stuff happen..like 8 letters instead of 7, trying to exchange letters and getting passed instead..with my opponent telling me that there is no way possible that could happen..even though it happens 6 times in a row before I give up. Also the one thing that probably drives me the most crazy is the setting of the game at the beginning..when i host a game I always check my preferences to make sure that everything is checked appropriately...but for some reason the rules of the game dont seem very important to people. Another pet peeve....zoning someone for a game and then watching them exit quickly..or when I start a table...no one comes to it...but as soon as I leave the room...someone zones me as asks me why i dont want to play or they start a table. To me it is just crazy. When it comes to the point where the frustration and the susupiciousness outweigh the fun...its time to look elsewhere for a game. Sorry for rambling..and I hope that you and I can get together for a game soon Sadie.
