I used to be a step-counter in 2k1 Bruce. Heck, I would count steps, leaves, ballmarks...pretty much anything within sight, and then divide everything by my daughter's birthday. Since 2k3 elite came along, I decided to take a new approach. I aint even close to being among the best putters here, but I've gotten decent at listening to the breakline indicator for lining up putts. Takes some time, but if you'll stick with it, and resist the temptation to use the GA, you'll get a good feel for it soon enough. Watch for the transition points anywhere around hole high. Like I said, I'm still learning, but imo, it's a fairly accurate gauge. GL to ya.
