First - thank you for asking.

Second - I don't think it's a good idea to move the room. We don't want to lose anyone who might be looking for us. All the rooms are public so we really can't control who comes in on an individual basis and we certainly can't control their behavior in the lobby. There is another league playing in The Battlefield, but they don't seem to have a lot of players either so there's been no threat of shutting people out of the room because it's too full. We pitched our tent in the Battlefield, let's not break camp.

Third -- regarding the other comments about the league from the players, I for one miss playing competitive spades with great players and having fun with a bunch of nice people. I saw others expressing the same feelings, so I decided to step up and become a TD and offer a beginning, which is to make tournaments so that we all know where and what time to find each other to play. It's a start. RUcrazy has also been tireless in her efforts, and I'm grateful to her for caring so much.

Fourth: re the fall of Rome and why -- the past is behind us, the only purpose in rehashing it is to make sure we don't make the same mistakes again. I used to play at least one game here at least three days a week for more than eight years, but I flew the coop because:

1. Rules -- there were so many rules being made to try to thwart the cheaters that it was impossible to relax and enjoy a game of spades anymore. The rules became a punishment for all instead of a deterrent for some. I think the rules we have now are sufficient.

2. Cheaters -- there are cheaters everywhere, especially when people inexplicably derive a huge measure of their self-esteem from ladder rank or yahoo spades ratings. Can't explain it because I don't understand it LOL.

No matter how many rules you make, cheaters will find a way to cheat. If you know for a fact that someone is cheating, you kick them out of your league and you ban them from coming back. It's difficult to prove that someone is cheating, because there are so many ways to do it that are undetectable. And, since this is a virtual environment, in the past it was probably near impossible to ban them, but these days with most on static IP's it might be an easier task.

It is frustrating to have to play with cheaters. However, my advice is to remember the serenity prayer and know that if you can't change it, don't sweat it. The problem is theirs, not yours. And if you really don't want to play with someone, just don't play them.

3. What I want from a spades league -- I want no-drama spades, I want competitive spades, I want the opportunity to play with players who are better than me so I can continue to learn and so I can be challenged. I want to have fun with fun people. That's what I had in cases before, and that it what I hope to find here again someday.

Thanks again for asking, sorry you got more than you asked for! LOL :-) See you all at the tables. Justy

Hello yspades,

: Could you please express your opinion regardless of what it may be to the following question:

: "What do you feel the benefits or disadvantages would be to moving this ladder to a different Yahoo! Spades room? Also, would you be for or against this move?"

: This is merely to get an idea of interest in this possible change.

: Thank you for your time and support!
