We will, once again, be able to meet friends, play ladder games and hold tournaments. I realize this transition, if you choose to join us, will not be easy, but if we work together and you, the members, continue to be patient, we can make this work. :o))

: -To inform you of the new ladder and game site
: -To explain how to gain access to both
: -To explain how to transfer your exisiting Yacht ladder account to the new ladder.

: Our new home is at Excite Chat -Virtual Places. You must join Excite.com. As you know, your game name and Ladder name must match exactly. Do not worry if you cannot get your old ladder name at Excite. Choose a name that you like, if it is available. I will cover changing your ladder name to match, later in this email. Joining Excite is free and simply so you can get the software and access the site. You must download 2 small applications in order to have access and to play; the Chat program and Yahtzee. You can get both downloads at this URL http://www.excite.com/communities/chat/games

: (**NOTE** Excite Chat DOES NOT work with Windows Millenium Edition. It will only work with Windows95, 98 and NT)

: After you download and install these 2 programs, you will only be using the Excite Chat – Desktop Icon or Start menu Icon to access the site. *Virtual Places WILL NOT work if you try to use a browser.* Click on the icon to open. After connection, you will be brought to a new window and it will ask you sign into Excite. After you sign in, you will be brought to a lobby. This is the Main Chat lobby. From there, if you wish, you can access a number of chat and gaming rooms. In order to find the Case’s Ladder Yahtzee Room, you must:

: -Find the “Location” bar at the top of the Excite Chat window
: -Type in http://www.igl.net/exyacht/ (That is the address for the NEW ladder)
: -Highlight the address and hit “Enter” on your keyboard.

: You should now be in the Case’s Ladder – Yahtzee (Excite) room. To make sure, if you see the main page of the Case’s Ladder Yahtzee (Excite) site in the background and it appears that you are in a chat room, you're in the right place. :o)) If it’s the correct room, go up to “Go” on the Excite tool bar and add the address to “Favorites” You won’t have to type it in next time, just click. When you first enter, you will be in the “Observing” area. Right-click on your name and choose “Enter Room”. Once there, you can play ladder games and report your losses, all from one room. Right now, I’m not sure about room capacity. This is a learning process for all, and we’ll deal with problems and find solutions as they crop up. There are bound to be a few in the beginning.

: Tournies will not be available for sometime, but they will available. We need to play there awhile and figure out the most convenient and fairly, easy way to hold them.

: After looking around the game site, should you decide to move with us, you DO NOT have to join the new Yahtzee ladder. You can simply transfer your existing ladder account from the Yacht Ladder to the Yahtzee Ladder. All of your stats and bux WILL be moved whether you are a premium membership holder or not.

: HOW TO TRANSFER:

: -Go to the “old” ladder site http://www.igl.net/wonyacht/ and on the Main page, you will see a billboard at the top, posted by NIKE1.
: -Find the “MOVETOOL” in the billboard and click on it.
: -A page will appear with a scroll down box. Locate Yacht(WON) and click “Next”
: -A page will appear with a box on it. Next to the scroll down box you will see "ladder to move to"
: -Scroll down to Yahtzee(Excite) and choose it.
: -Type in your exisiting ladder name and password (NOT your Excite name). Click "Next".
: -It should then say "Transfer Complete and Thanks for supporting Cases Ladder" or something to that effect.
: Give it some time to go through (about 1/2 hour) and then go to the NEW ladder site http://www.igl.net/exyacht/ and look yourself up using "Find Player".

: Remember..you will no longer be a member of the Yacht(WON) ladder. They havent added the new ladder to the scroll down box in the forums yet, so you won’t be able to post anywhere but the new ladder, for the time being. I'll get on that right away :o))

: The next thing you want to do, once your transfer is complete and you’ve checked that it went through is change your ladder name to match you new Excite name, if necessary. PLEASE Remember: Your Ladder name must match your game name EXACTLY!

: HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LADDER NAME:

: -On the NEW ladder site http://www.igl.net/exyacht/ Go down the left side and find "User Editor". Click on it.
: -In the little box that appears, type in your present Ladder name, the one you transfered over (NOT your Excite name)
: -You will be taken to a page with choices on it. Click on choice #1, Change User Name, password, etc.
: -In the box that appears...clear out your OLD name and type in the new one. (Exactly as it appears on Excite). You can change your password if you choose, but it isn’t necessary. Click "Submit".

: You will then see "Your Changes have been successfully submitted and Thank you for supporting Cases Ladder." Next, use the "Find Player", located on the left side, type in your NEW name and look yourself up to make sure it went through. You are now ready to play and report ladder games using the Excite Chat-Virtual Places Program.

: Thank you for your patience as we waited for a new home and also for reading this very long email, lol. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact Cases using the "Support" link on the new site if you transfered and from the old site, if you haven’t.
