Diversity and choice has been the greatest obstacle in building a successful ladder site
At one time people found spades and stayed and played. The zone had a seeming monopoly on our interests.
Over time alternative sites offered new ideas which spread us out. The team concept became attractive with built in partners.
My-leagues flourished when disatisfied folks were willing to work at providing more control of problems that cases could not easily address from a business standpoint
The zone closing its CLASSIC spades wiped out tons of frienships when new ideas replaced old comfortable ones
We discovered new ideas and games and sites. Myself i am enamored with 3 hand cutthroat spades.Others like poker, backgammon etc
People now play on several venues at same time during the day. Meeting your friends at a site becomes hit or miss
Personally i feel the only way to establish this site successfully is to make sure we are all avaiable at specific times of the day and dedicate ourselves to just playing here at those times
As we grow and build a larger player base the time for games will expand
I have thrown out tentative times as suggestions for a starting point. 10 am est, 2 pm est and 7 pm est
I wont be avail all the time but will make attempts to be there at those times
A simple post in the forum for your FAVORITE playing time will allow your FRIENDS to find you at this site when you are usually here
