Hey folks - I have a splendid idea. Indtead of a few of you whimpering like babies who weren't properly suckled how about you either put up or take your medicine and realize that you can't cut it.
Phil - your a decent guy - I understand your desire for non-edging fair play. I think it is a blast. You other folks who keep on ranting and raving about edging crack me up. It isn't as if you have formed a no edge ladder where you are in contention or a true swing H ladder. Nope, you just like to rag like every day is that time of the month and quite frankly it comes off as childish.
You know, this game allows you to do whatever you want. there's no way to stop people from edging - never will be - unless you go 3-click or ts H. I happen to like TS V, I don't adge and I compete with teh number 1 players. nick doesn't edge - and he's easily as good as anyone has ever been. I really think it is an overblown thing this anti-edging crap because if you have the skill you can actually play a better game not edging and have a clear advantage on some shots.
So, it is my contention that all those people ^@*!#ing and moaning are doing so because they simply aren't all that good and haven't the patience or desire to get that good. Maybe they just phyisaclly can't cope. I don't know. I'm not saying that as a cutdown. Lord knows there are plenty of games I can't cope playing the best players. What I do then is quietly go away or get better. I don't blame the good players because I happen to suck.
Phil says it like it is. He's not hiding behind anything. Just lost interest. That's understandable. Players will come and go. But I would have to say that Dan's personality is only an excuse for players to ^@*!#. If your skin is so thin you can't take Dan - good God - I'd be embarrassed to say that.
Too many people here have some oerception that Dan's changed the rules. Well, he really hasn't. Sure, maybe Dan wants to play certain conditions - so what? Learn to play 'em. Top players can play any condition. By whimpering about it all your doing is saying "I'm not good enough to cope!" Learn to play them and then when your number one or two or three of five you can start determining the conditions. And, BTW - Dan does play other conditions.
We play dry a lot any more.
The point is that this is a game for fks sake and while it should be healthy competition it should also be fun. I think a healthy dose of each is the best.
It just amazes me that people would let one guy get under their skin to the point that they'd quit a game for that reason alone. Suffice to say I would wager that the reason really isn't Dan at all.
Oh, and Fist - WTF you been mate? Been ages. You start some damn Papaya plantation in Phuket or something - been takin' up all your time? FFS
LAST NOTE:
IN my book - anyone is a welcome competitor. But I WILL refuse to play whimpering simpletons. Rules or not - LOL. You can be as gragarious a goofball as you want - but start pouting like a sissy - and I'd rather stick hot pokers in my eyes than play you. There are plenty of players on this ladder who aren't top players but still compete for the fun.
Enough said - I'm just typing cause I don't wanna go to bed bcause I don't wanna face tomorrow when I actually have to be responsible - LOL
