: First, let me point out that there are more than one reason for slow play. Everyone, including myself. has at times struggled with their computer or internet provider. Or that the phone may ring, or he dog insists on going out right now, or the pot is boiling over.

: Given that, many of our players are caregivers, whether to a family member or loved one, and real life sometimes intrudes, sometimes at an inconvenient time.

: More than one player on our ladder plays through extreme illness or severe physical disability. They struggle to play because they enjoy the game and the comradeship they find with internet friends, sometimes their only outside contact. Usually hugs or a friendly hi are involved.

: So next time you are in a slow game, remember why you are playing, for the fun of the game, and with a little charity in your heart, that the person on the other side of the screen may have a valid reason for slow play.
