Dear Team Pinochle Members,

As you're aware, we have been striving to get a challenge rule ready for Team Pinochle (Yahoo). The most recent step that was accomplished was members going to the voting booth to determine if we, as a ladder, should revert back to Case's General Rules or if the op team with the help of the members should develop a Game Specific Rule (GSR) to define the challenge process. It was decided that we should work together to develop a GSR.

The op team has spent hours upon hours reviewing, tweaking, and sweating over a rule that will be fair, enforceable, and easy to use.

This is an important issue that affects each and every one of you. Your input is vital to us all having a successful transition from the current GSR of no direct challenges to having some form of a challenge on this ladder.

We realize that you, the members, want to keep the first come/first serve way of getting games. Any challenge rule that you adopt must work in
conjunction with all of our current GSR's.

Any team in the top 5 shall be required to play a minimum of 10 games per day or be penalized according to ladder op guidelines for avoidance or failure to defend rank.

Please review each of the above options and cast your vote at www.teamypino.org no later than Sunday, March 27, 2005. The first trial period will begin Monday, March 28, 2005 and will last for two weeks. The second trial period will begin Monday, April 11, 2005 and will also last 2 weeks. The 2 rules will then be placed into the booth against each other for 2 weeks. The higher vote getter will replace our current "No Direct Challenge" GSR. If you have any questions, you may either post it in the forum or go to the team website, click on contact us then click on MAIL US to ask your question.

Thank you for all your help!!

The Ladder Op Team
