Donald Piening Jr.
Donald V. Piening Jr., age 57 of Conshohocken, an engineering associate, died on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009.
He was born in Philadelphia on July 20, 1952, son of the late Donald V. Sr. and Mary T. (McDonald) Piening. ‘
He was the beloved husband of Sheila Lucas for 35 years.
He is survived by three daughters: Nadine DeAngelis of Conshohocken, husband Keith, Darleen Piening of Philadelphia and Kelly Piening of Norristown; a granddaughter Sarah, who lived with and was raised by Donald and Sheila; a sister, Susan McQuillen of Ohio; grandchildren: Lucas, Molly, Vincent, Briley, Rachel, Brooke and Doris.
Donald graduated from Roman Catholic High School, class of 1970. He attended Princeton University.
He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.
He served on the naval vessel CVN 71, which was a troop transport.
Donald was employed as an engineering associate for Control Vibration Inc., where he worked on many high priority government assignments.
He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Conshohocken.
As a radio controlled model airplane enthusiast, he was a member of the Valley Forge Signal Seekers.
Donald donated much of his time and talents to coaching youth football for the Conshohocken Golden Bears and the Bridgeport Dragons.
Relatives and friends may pay respects on Saturday, Nov. 28 from 10:30 to 11:50 a.m. at the William A. Moore Funeral Home, 708 Fayette St., Conshohocken.
A funeral service will commence in the funeral home at noon.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Donald’s name may be made to Ss. Cosmas & Damian Church, 5th Ave. & Maple St., Conshohocken, PA 19428.
