Hey Gang,

There was a time when playing teams took away from the “bs” of the singles ladder back when I played on the zone and for a short time when the ladder moved to the gamershack. To be honest with you, I get more satisfaction in playing in singles ladder now because that “bs’ doesn’t exist. Do things happen, sure. My biggest frustration is not being able to find a match as easy as it used to be. Teams have been experiencing this more and more. Thus rule changes allowing to play 3 times. However, nobody needs to be subjected to some of the things that used to go on in the league. Our lives are trying enough. Most of us, myself included try to take refuge here for a little peace of mind or rest and relaxation. As many of you know, I just started playing cribbage again within the last few months .I had left playing cribbage completely for almost 4 years, no internet, no live play, no ACC, nothing .It was a needed break. Pretty amazing since I’ve played for 38 years straight, before that. I still don’t play ACC, but I’m not going to get into that. Do I enjoy playing cribbage? Well I used to think so. Do I enjoy the team?, absolutely! Have I met people over the years and remain friends, sure have. Raytoo was one of those folks. He even took it upon himself to run the team I originally started, many many years ago. My hats off for putting up with the way things are, he’s done a great job. Time has past and many players/teams have gone, where? who knows .Cribbage my friends, is a simple game for simple people. It is not complicated and relatively easy to learn. To master it may take a lifetime for some. The game becomes trivial ,except when you have to put up with peoples actions, that take this to a whole other level.

The latest incident was, when I need just a few pts to go out in a game and clearly show 8pts after the hands have been played and opponent needs 25 or so to go out. I type gl, cya, yada yada. The game shows over. Only to have opponent say I left and we need to play game over. I’ve played over 500 matches on singles ladder and think I know the site well enough, that I never left a game prematurely. Maybe there was confusion based on the fact that I was typing this before game was actually over, whatever. I’m not looking for a interview conversation when I play someone, but some players leave without saying anything, never say anything during the game and struggle to get a gl at the beginning of the match out of them. I have been known to carry on a good conversation at least once in my life I believe. The old ns when you lead 12-9 after your 1st crib gets real old, even for the novice player. I think I’m a pretty good player, never proclaimed to be the best or invented the game. For someone as competitive as I, the realism of losing 40% of the time or more is not difficult. If you can’t handle ever losing, than cribbage is not for you. I’ve never been a rank monger, rank never has meant much to me, but I understand and respect the format of the ladder. I’m a black and white kind of guy, no gray with me, you either love me or hate me, so pick a color. I promise you will not her my feelings.

I play more now because I have the time to do so. Can I play every night, No! Do I want to play every night! No. This is not life and death. We all have commitments, schedules and obligations .Do we continue to play? I’ll leave that question up to everyone in this ladder. For some members who hide behind a computer it’s judgement day. Pass judgement on yourself approach and your demeanor and you make the choice. I don’t have the patientience to put up with mediocracy, that’s all this ladder is. I, nor any one person can make a difference. If you don’t have fun, don’t play !Be considerate .Trust me, I can be a real (_l_) when you back me in a corner, but it usually takes a lot to get me there. I’m no competition for some in that category. We all need to make an attempt , otherwise you might as well pull the plug. Acesneights (Bruce) 4thstreetgang

Stay tuned!
