New Regular Game Variations

Hi all,

The games rules page has been updated to add 2 more variations of Regular to be
played at either noon or 4 PM.

Regular with Nil to 500

This game was popular when we had it on the list before. There is no hand count required. The game will go 30 minutes or to 500, whichever comes first. If the game is played at a steady fast pace, 500 should be attainable in 30 minutes.

If time is running out, the TD will call last hand BEFORE bidding begins so players may bid strategically for the final hand.

Closest to 500 without going over

This is a new variation of regular spades. The parameters are 10/30/<500. The
game will always go 10 hands or 30 minutes unless a team goes over 500 points.
If a team goes over 500, that team loses.

Musical Chairs

Admin has decided to remove this game for several reasons. It is a slow played
game. It encourages cheating (players writing down their cards before standing
or taking screen shots of their hands). Kibitzers come to tables and tell
cards, resulting in skipped hands. Finally, most members don't like the game.

The rules for the 2 new games have been added to the Game Rules page in League Links. Please contact me or any Admin if you have any questions or suggestions
for new games.
