what are you reading this for , idiot ?
oops..... okay the tricks i know for launching...
1. have the risk cd in the drive, with the tray out(open). when host launches, it will
ask for the cd. push it in.click ok. if the host can
host(other players join, has hosted) this does
work.
2. if you only see 1 line of text at a time in chat, try this download. msoffice not required, read the directions .
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/appndx/toolbox.htm#orktools . 8.9mb ,whew .
3.routers-sorry i don't know jack about them.
several buddies have them and could help, but they're not around.(not playing risk).

4.oh yea ONE MORE THING... it used to be that
you needed the essential zone file to play on
gamespy. i am not exactly sure if it is still
needed, but i would keep it on for now. i still play risk2 there,so keeping mine.
that is the setup file for zone, the 800kb(or was it 450kb???) .
5.the risk patch-if you used it on the zone, you will need it on gamespy. if your game played fine on the zone, and you haven't made any changes, don't change anything. the patch is only for the 'host'
cd of the 2 cd set. it does no good for the single (red) cd version. in fact, it wrecks it, and you will have to uninstall/reinstall risk.good to see you all there, keep trying.
i know you will figure it out eventually !
