Hi all,

The subject has come up regarding posting times when asking for a defend. This is covered in our rules. Our rules do not have all the specifics down in writing and we sometimes need to state how we interpret them.

Formal Challenge Waiting (Added 08/23/2009)

Members are permitted to wait up to 15 minutes for their formal challenge, provided both members are in the room. This must be stated in the lobby.

We use this rule to cover our defend challenges and this one:

Rank Threatening Match (Added 08/23/2009)

Top ten members are permitted to wait up to 15 minutes for their rank threatening match, provided both members are in the room. This must be stated in the lobby.

Players must play a defend match every 3 days if they are in the top 5.

• Rank Defense •Members in the Top Ten must play the person ranked directly below them at least once every three days. A rank-defense match takes priority over other challenges, and any member that would be involved in a rank-defense match may initiate the challenge. For example, a match between rank #2 and rank #3 is considered a rank-defense match, and either member ranked in those positions can challenge the other to play the match. If either member, the better-ranked player or the worse-ranked player, is found to be avoiding a rank-defense match, then their account may be penalized.

A player in the top 5 may ask the player ranked above or below them for a defend game in the lobby of our game room. The opponent should answer yes or no in the lobby. The challenger should then post the time. The challenger then can not be challenged for a game by other players for the next 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes is up, the challenger can still wait for the defend game but others could ask this player for a game.

Getting the defend game in every 3 days can be difficult. We should try to accommodate players who are trying to get the game in to follow our rules and avoid penalties.

In summary: after a player asks for a defend, and the opponent accepts, the time should be posted in the lobby.

Sincerely,

Farmerrich_2000, LeadOp
