I am TheArtOfCardsTD and I would like to welcome you to Case's
Pogo.com Hearts ladder. We are glad to have you.
The first thing you need to do, is bookmark our Ladder, you will need this to register for tournaments, visit the Forum Board, Report Losses (Yes, you WILL have them..LOL) and to see the stats and standings for our community.
Once we have established the community, I will create us a web site, that will be more personalized, with BIO pages from those that would like to have one on the web, to be on the page, we will also have direct links to the forum, reporting, tourney calendar and anything else that we can think of that people would like easier, quick access too. If you have not yet had a chance to read the rules, I would suggest that you do so. They will give you a better understanding of how things work on the ladder.
There are a couple of rules that new members often break because they don't know any better. I would like to mention those here. One rule is that you are allowed to have only one account on the ladder. If you made an account and then decided
you wanted a different name, or even just a variation of that same name, be SURE you withdraw the account you are not going to use. Mutltiple accounts are strictly forbidden. If you get tired of the same name you can go to User Editor and
change your name. User Editor is down the left side of the Case home page under Account.
The other rule that is often broken is not having your pogo.com name and your Case Ladder name match. They must match exactly. Often someone will join Case first
then try to join Pogo.com and find they cannot use that same name, so they just use that name with a variation. If you do this, then you must go back
to case and change your case name to match your Pogo.com name. You can change your name under User Editor. User Editor is down the left side of the
Case home page, under account.
At this time I need to mention the Case default options for games. Pogo.com offers a wide variety of options on setting games. The Case default options are the standard setting that we as ladder members use. We will at this time, use the default settings that Pogo.Com offers and at the time we have OPs on our ladder to organize that, then you may submit suggestions to them, if you feel we can vary from these options.
Tournaments are created to have a fun time, this being said, the tournaments will sometimes be created with some rules that may not be so traditional and may NOT be Pogo.com default settings, so whenever you choose to join a tournament, please be sure to click on and read the rules.
We have no Ops on our ladder at this time, as it is a new Ladder for Cases. I have applied for an OPs postition, to try and get us rolling with the ladder, but would like to mention to each of you, If you have some leadership skills and communication skills and would like to help be a part in the administration of the community, there are applications for both OPs and TDs on the Main page of our site, Please feel free to apply.
We will be using the Regal Beagle Room, on the SOCIAL room list at Pogo.com. If someone comes in that is not a member, please urge them to join us and offer the URL for them to do so, this is the only way we can grow this ladder to where we would like to go. The more the merrier.
I am the Head Tournament Director on the ladder and I would like to encourage you to join in the tournaments. They are a lot of fun and a good way for you to get more ladderbux so you can pay your way into the tournaments and you can save bux for great prizes or to buy raffle tickets. Come join us in our tourneys and see how much fun they
can be. Tournaments also can give you the opportunity to play high ranked players and of course beating them will help move you quickly up the ladder.
I hope you did agree to take the Case's newsletter and answered all their questions so that you got ladderbux to start with. If you did not agree to take the newsletter or answer the questions, you will start out without any bux at all. :-( Believe me you want those bux! If you did not get any bux when you joined our ladder,
you can withdraw from the ladder and immediately rejoin, even using the same name, and this time agree to take the newsletter. If you do this, please be sure you do withdraw before you join again. It is a rule that you cannot have more than one account on the ladder, and that rule is enforced.
If we can grow the community to make it worthwhile for Pogo.com to spend the effort and time to make a LADDER ROOM, we will/can submit to them a request to do so, but for this to happen, we need to have many more playing. So this is something that will be off down the road as a goal for us to accomplish. By getting our own room/area, this will cut down on those NON-Ladder persons from jumping into our room and games.
