Well perk, the download file is now an utable (.exe) file, so if Quicktime is still trying to open it, you have somehow instructed Quicktime to handle .exe files. You need to go to Windows Preferences? and - here is where I'm at a loss being a mac dude in a windows world - there should be a preferences panel that associates file extensions with particular programs. You need to dissociate Quicktime from .exe files - this makin sense to anybody else out there? Good luck.
