Six weeks ago I was contacted by a very reliable source concerning Playlink and Blocktionary. At this time he wishes to remain anonymous. At the beginning of February he informed us that negotiations were underway for a new company to buy Playlink from UGO. The final contracts have been signed and they state that their first priority is letting us play Blocktionary. We are informed that a quick version of the game (you vs. the computer at various skill levels) may be available as early as two weeks or less. The multiplayer version will be a month or so after that. You will be able to access the games from the original site www.playlink.com. At the present time, the URL still points to UGO, but we are told that will be fixed in a few days. Our "tipster" will be keeping us informed of the details of this acquisition as they become available and we will pass them along to you.
It was less than six months ago that we lost blocktionary and feared it would never return. Many people worked diligently in hopes of getting our favorite game back. We had disappointment along the way, but all the effort and patience has paid off. Not only will we have the original game that we loved so much, but we are lucky enough to have met Tam and be involved in her gaming community, www.tams11.com. She has welcomed all of us with open arms and has worked non-stop to give us a game that is similar to the one we were missing. She has many great games and I'd like to see the block community continue their support. The one-to-one support that Tam has given proves to us that she cares about the players, her games and the warm community feeling she has created with her site.
We've gone from wandering the net looking for anything to fill that void we were missing, to having a working game in wordline and knowing that within a few months the original Blocktionary will return as well. WE DID IT, LETS BLOCK!!!
