Loners on 8 or 9

Although I am sure that everyone at one time or another has called a loner when they have 8 or 9 pts but when it is called to your attention you could apologize and say my bad Not its allowed....yes unfortunately there is no rule against it but its sportsman like conduct or just plain common courtesy.
going alone on 8 or 9 is stronly discouraged however sometimes to assure the win going on 8 shouldnt be frowned on many times my p has stopped us from getting 2 points only to go onto next hand and lose the game but going on 9 is an absolute no... no... no.. and if it is done by accident and apology is giving then all should accept apology and move on .. its a shame yahoo dont have the feature of having score on game table at all times instead of having to open another window to see it,some ppl just have lousy pc and find it hard to have another window open. myself i have score up at all times to prevent accidently going alone on 9
