First game was against Gregg Foster (~1500 nsa). I pull 7 of the 10 power tiles including all 4 s's and both blanks to win 387-313. He challenged stangs for 37 pts (I used 2 s's for 37 pts and he challenges???). 2 bingos to none: foremen and snootier.
2nd game against Arnie Horowitz (1762). He pulls 8 of the 10 power tiles including all 4 s's, but I win anyway, 395-349. 2 bingos to one: my ansated and inciters, his aeriest.
3rd game against Steven Saul (1823). After an early bingo of his (fretsaw???) and a couple of other power tile plays (zori for 42 and jeon for 46), I'm down 207-103. I play diverts natural for 81, but he responds w/ex for 39, making the score 246-184. I exchange 6 tiles and now hold leaners. Since there's no spot for leaners, I start looking for 8's. I find gleaners double double for 86 pts, score 270-260. A couple of turns later I bingo w/toastier to the r. I drew qsss? and he got ?szjx. Some good endgame plays (you for 31 and mute for 30) seal the win for me, 454-401.
4th game is against Bruce D'Ambrosio (1758). He sees plumages natural thru the m on his 2nd turn. A few turns later, I bingo w/seeping to make the score 195-193. A few turns later, I bingo w/retailed and end up winning 410-341.
5th game is against Dean Cullen (1703) who no longer plays tournaments but is truly one of the strongest players in the club. He bingos w/stewards thru the w, but I bingo back w/asPirins to the s (which he gave to me by saying 'look in your medicine cabinet' - I was going to try raisings which is also good). He bingo bango's w/guitars. A couple of turns later, I see mistreat natural thru the s. He misses blocking my only z play in the endgame, so I win 401-369. What a night!
