: Quite apart from our differences regarding the speed of play and its effect on strategy, and without animosity or spite, I have a sincere suggestion: Why not see if anyone is willing and/or able to set up a Ladder similar to those currently being implemented, but with a 30-second timer included? This is not meant to be exclusionary or unamiable, but for the players who have a real problem with slow games (and I can relate, in view of the time used by some Zoners), I think this is a legitimate option. This is also not intended to create a division among players, but to address one that seems in some cases to be unbridgeable from both sides of the board. I'm too ignorant of computer and Internet technology to know if this is even feasible, but if so, I think it would serve a genuine need among the fleeter Scrabble community.

Thanks for the decent posting anti, I thank thee. Yes there are differences in how some of feel about the length of games, but do know that many are still trying to adjust. I did notice one of our ex-mplayers postings in the Zone forum and was taken aback on their comment on "Speed Scrabble v Zone Scrabble". My only comment on that posting is that there is no difference between the two, in fact our number one player in Mplayer was a tourney champ, so his comment of "if you want to play fast games with lousy players".....is totaly unfounded. (And very typical for him to say)
But anyhow.....thanks again anti for offering suggestions on the timer thing, and I know that our OPS are working on something. Then at least when the Zone goes down, we can set our timers to what we are accustomed to.
Peace ~
Lady
