Quite apart from our differences regarding the speed of play and its effect on strategy, and without animosity or spite, I have a sincere suggestion: Why not see if anyone is willing and/or able to set up a Ladder similar to those currently being implemented, but with a 30-second timer included? This is not meant to be exclusionary or unamiable, but for the players who have a real problem with slow games (and I can relate, in view of the time used by some Zoners), I think this is a legitimate option. This is also not intended to create a division among players, but to address one that seems in some cases to be unbridgeable from both sides of the board. I'm too ignorant of computer and Internet technology to know if this is even feasible, but if so, I think it would serve a genuine need among the fleeter Scrabble community.
