Well hello everyone: The following are tips for playing via the scrabblerules live chat room.

The appearance of the game screens differs; but the basic format remains the same.

These instructions are geared toward version one of the game because version one has a menu for selecting game options. Retrieving and entering the IP (Internet Protocol) address for the person playing as the remote (player two) is the only tricky part about it.

Once your Scrabble program is launched, you can use ALT + Tab to cycle through your open programs to get back to the chat room.

Note: While you don't need to close and relaunch your Scrabble program during repeated launch attempts, you do need to close and relaunch the program after a game has been played.

Ways to get your IP address:

Go to the following link and download this quick file it is really great and your I.P appears right on your screen.

Or while connected to the internet, go to your Windows START menu, choose RUN; then type winipcfg, a window of info will come up. One of the numbers listed should be your IP address.

The dots in the number are needed when used for play. So when you jot down the number, make sure you put the dots in too.

The number of your IP will look something like this: 123.456.789.12. It is a series of four sets of numbers separated by dots.

Your IP address changes whenever you reboot and in some cases when you log on again; so you may need to check it often for accuracy.

Player 1 - Hosting a game:

Ok if you are the HOST you do not need your opponent's IP address when you play as host.

Once you've found an opponent in your chat room, launch your Scrabble game.

Choose NEW GAME from the FILE menu.

Enter your name in the area for player one.

Then Click on HUMAN and HERE and click ok

A little window will come up saying "Looking for Host" - this is what you want - leave it like that while your opponent, the remote player, enters your IP address from their end. If they enter the number correctly, launch should take place quite quickly. You may have to try a couple of times to connect.

Player 2 - Playing as the Remote:

Ok if you just want to join a game and not host.

Find an opponent in your chat room and write down his or her IP address.

Launch your Scrabble CD game.

Once the host has launched on their end, choose JOIN GAME from the FILE menu.

Make sure the INTERNET option is selected;

Then enter your name and your opponent's (the host's) IP number that is it click ok.

The little "Looking for Host" box will come up and the game should launch shortly.

I hope everyone can adapt to this quickly then all you need to do is go into the chatroom say anyone for a game type your ip address 123.456.789.01 and you set up for host the one responding will click on join game. it is that easy...
