Quite often, it seems like your record against some people tends to be better/worse than it should be. This happens not only w/maven dishing out the tiles, but also live and in person. There's a woman at my club who's pretty good, but I'm about 100 rating points higher than her (and still climbing hopefully!), even after she just got a good ratings boost. I'd guess that my record w/her is like 5-15 or something similar.
I've also speculated that it has to do w/playing style to a certain extent too, i.e. closed board style against bingo style. Hope this made u feel better at least. :)
