: The others playing are dumbfounded at the scores I rack up.
I discovered Scrabble Blitz a few days ago, and with the exception of the unacceptability of the perfectly legitimate words that Shallot listed, it's great fun. It really keeps you on your toes and forces you to unscramble those letters as fast as you can.
Since you are playing on the board by yourself, you have to be careful not to let your "good Scrabble habits" take over. I find myself placing the opening play defensively (not slotting vowels) or reluctant to place vowels next to TLS's or hesitant to open TWS lines. You might as well do that here because you'll be setting yourself up for the big score.
I scored 751 in one game last night. The other 4 people in the room had scores ranging from 150 to -3. They were, as Shallot described, dumbfounded. One of them even refused to believe that I had scored 751, even though I scored over 650 all 4 games I played there. So, you might not get much competition there, unless several of us head over to check Scrabble Blitz out. : )
