There's a reason for everything. :o)

Let me tell you something before I explain the changes that have been made. The tourney system used to be set up so that you could only host one tournament per day. When it was like that it wouldn't let you make a tournament without having atleast 8 players registered. They made a loophole that would allow for a tournament to be run with only 2 players when they made it so that the TD's could host more than one tournament a day. That has been something that has needed fixed for some time now.

When they first fixed this 2 days ago they originally made it so that you couldn't even host a tournament with less than 8 players, which was the way it was originally(explained above) about 8 months ago. After some discussion it was decided that a minimum of 8 players was too much for our smaller ladders, but there was another concern as well.

The other problem we had to fix is that in a 4 player tournament everyone got bux no matter if they won a game or not. Ladderbux were not invented for the purpose of giving them away in tournaments. They need to be earned in the tournaments. This was the other problem that needed fixed.

The only solution to both of these problems was to make it so that you could host with 4 players and that you couldn't have a bux tourney without 8 players. This took care of 2 things: 1) It eliminates the possibility of 2 player tournaments. 2) It eliminates the possibility of winning bux in a tournament without atleast one win. If you have a bux fee for a tournament and less than 8 players sign up, the tournament will automatically be dropped down to a no bux fee tournament.

I know that players like getting bux in tournaments, but I really don't believe that is the main reason they play. I believe that the main reason players play in the tournaments is for the fun that the TD's bring to the game.

I'm sure all of this makes sense to you, but I know it also seems like a setback. I really don't think it is. It's just that the programmers have just not gotten around to fixing something that has needed fixed for some time now.

Have fun out there!
