Hiya all,
I don't like writing this kind of post, but in light of recent events, I feel that it is necessary.

You May have noticed that the top ten player list has changed drastically this past week. Any and all players that were in violation of any top ten rule were runged to reflect that.

It seems that many people feel that because our ladder has dwindled somewhat and that it may be hard to get a game at times, this gives them rights to not play games. This is unfair for many reasons. It stalls play in the top ten and the ladder stagnates. Also, the games were available for you to reach that coveted spot and your playing activity should not lessen becuase you have achieved a cozy rank.

There are ways to get a game in cases of "player drought" . You can use e-mail to let a player ranked above or below you that you are available to play at a certain time.
You may also use the formal challenge feature to request a game with a higher ranking player that is hard to catch.
Both of these ways of requesting a game will act as proof of attempting to get a game and this proof will secure your rank and prevent a penalty and marked records.

If you find yourself in the top ten, Please know that there are specific rules that apply to you. Also, when you are in the top ten, all eyes are on you. Those ranked below you want a chance to play you for the coveted rank of #1.

If only we could all remember the thrill of getting that UP game....the one that put us in the top ten which lead to the next UP game....putting us closer to #1. I think that would make us all a little more understanding of others and their quest for the top spot.

I am not going to sit here and recite rules to you. You agreed that you had read the rules when you joined the ladder. iF you need a refresher on the rules, please go to cases main page and click on the link under the header" The Ladder" or click on the link at the bottom of this post. There are no hidden rules and the rules are the same for everyone and will be enforced as such.

It is also the players responsibility to know if they are in top ten or not. You can check the standings each day to see where you are. With our ladder being so small, this can rapidly change.

If you get runged or penalized for a rule violation, Don't take it out on your fellow players or your ladder ops. They did not get you into that position, you did that yourself. Many times, the ops have send e-mail to alert you to the fact that you were at risk of a penalty...many times it was ignored.
The fact is this....you are responsible for your behavior and activity on any ladder that you play.

The rules are clearly stated here and now they are being enforced to assure fair play for ALL of our players.

We sincerely hope that everyone abides by the rules and that our ladder, although small, keeps its big heart.

Thank you,
Canuck154, LadderOp
