It seems there are lots of truths, half truths, kind of truths, and well, no so much truth so I am here, finally some might add, to tell you all the truth of what is happening, and when you can expect your site to be back up and running. The truth is we really don’t know what that day is. We were hoping to have it up and running in a few days. That was a bit optimistic on my part. I had thought we could unplug the machines from flipside, bring them down to Vivendi and plug them in, make a few URL changes, remove some annoying pop up ads, get rid of the gator and walla, we would be back up and running. Well, little did I know that isn’t exactly how things would work.. I had forgotten that some of this code dates back to 1995. I had forgotten the basic premise that nothing is ever easy as it appears, specifically when dealing with this site. I had forgotten the down time when the move to flipside occurred, and the entire lost log in info, and the lost money that folks were really mad at, for a while. I had forgotten, that although we have some really great experts at creating sites, we don’t have anyone on staff that is familiar with this site. I had forgotten that everything I said in private, could be sent out public. What I haven’t forgotten is how important this site is to each and every one of you. Please believe me that I know how important it is to get this going, and how much I want to tell you that at such and such a day, time, year, this site will be going live. I do not have that info. Some have me quoted as saying that the site might not be up before Christmas, well; I guess that could be true. Some really nasty snags would have to happen for that to become true, but that quote did come from me, in a round about way. Some have said that I encouraged a letter writing campaign to get the guys at Vivendi to notice you. Don’t know where that quote came from, as all the letters would go to me anyway, so 3 or 4 would have been enough. I have over 700 currently so if you have not written in, please believe me when I say I have plenty. Please understand that for the past 3 or so years, I have pretty much been in charge of all the emails that come into Vivendi anyway. If you were to write the Attorney General, those would have came to me anyway, and I know how each of you feel. Oh, that goes for the BBB letters also. I have and will pass your notes on to the top brass at Vivendi Universal. But I will also tell you, they do not know how to write the code that would speed up this process, but at the very least it will let them know how important this site is to each of you. I hope this clears some of this mess up, and for those of you looking to put blame on any one person, put the blame on me for not coming out here and posting earlier. Oh, and so everyone knows there is only one person on the payroll here, and that is me and trust me when I say, it ain’t enough. For those of you who like to bash Linda, the moderator of this site, she is just volunteering her time. She has been a loyal Hoyle and Sierra supporter for many years. When official info does become available, she will know it and post it. I also talk to other users from time to time, and let them know what I am working on. I also try to answer every email that comes in. I will post in another area where I am at with hosts and such things as this is getting into the novel range, and I have said enough. Oh, one last thing, I won’t be back in this folder to answer any questions, so if you want me, you all have my email address. Mike Bowman
