Hi All,

The above post refers to gestures used in "OPEN CHAT"..in the lobby of the ladder and tourney rooms where all can see them. The rules of the ladder about appropriate chat behavior and treating each other with respect have been on the books all along, all the ladders have them. Simply put, you can not use innappropriate language in "Open Chat". What you say and do in IM's and during a game is up to you and the people you are conversing with or playing. If you find something someone said to you during a game or in an IM objectionable, you have the right to ask them not to say (or gesture) that to you anymore and if they continue after your request, you have the right to file a complaint using the Support link.

This is not a new rule but it was not an issue before because at our old site there was a language filter. Excite does not have one, but that doesn't mean anything goes. We need to keep the open lobby a safe and welcoming place for all and the guidelines that are already in place on the ladder help us do that.

I'm asking this on behalf of all the players. We ALL need to follow the rules about respecting each other that are already in place and have fun with people of all ages and genders, without alot of cuss words and sexual references in open chat which will drive away people who don't wish to see it or have their kids see it as the walk by the computer.

Thanks :o))
