To those that have gotten online, you already have read this, for the rest, this has been posted on the WorldPlay Gin start page within AOL:

Dear WorldPlay Players,
The history of WorldPlay Games goes back a number years. We are aware of the deep loyalty that many of you have towards the games and for your community. So it is with sadness that we announce that WorldPlay games will end as of May 5, 2003.

During the past few months, we have been working diligently to address some technological challenges and ensure that our delivery of the WorldPlay games could continue at level of quality that we all expect. Through our exhaustive efforts, it has become clear that we can't reach this goal, so we have had to make the difficult decision to retire the WorldPlay games.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment that this may cause. During the next two weeks, we will do our best to keep the games running to ease the transition.

While it is the end of WorldPlay Games, we know that the friendships and community you have created will continue.
