CASES 101

Now that we know that Cases thrives on controversy and
adversarial situations, lets look at why people play here:

INSTALLMENT 2. Why come here?

So if Cases has skewed dice, and likes controversy. then why
come here? (Hmmmm... seems to me that most people who don't
like controversy don't come here).
First, this is not backgammon. It is similar to backgammon,
but with skewed dice. If you can discern how the Cases dice program
responds, then you will have an edge over your opponent.

This dice program in combination with the Cases rules can allow any
better-than-average player to become #1 if they play enough games.
The top positions on this ladder do not reflect the players skill, but a
combination of skill, luck, time playing, knowledge of the dice program,
and the knowledge and shrewd use of the Cases rules.
A person who uses all these items to play their game has a much more
realistic chance of climbing the ladder. A final item that some overlook,
is that it helps to be friendly with the other players. This has often made
the difference of getting a game with an up instead of them leaving the
room cause they're "too tired".

Most players who seem docile can become quite aggressive when they get
near the top rungs of the ladder. Some of the nicest players are actually
quite shrewd when playing in Cases. These may be the majority of the
players who read all the advertising that Cases makes their money on.

But it is the social misfit who really makes this ladder. In the absence of any
truly talented entertainment, the rantings and tantrums of these idiots is
what keeps the interest level up so we average players will keep coming
back to see what they do next. Much like the Jerry Springer Show was able
to consistently get better ratrings than any entertainment or news program
played in the same time slot.

Currently we have the RFox Theater with special guests from all over the ladder,
Larry's Multiple Personality Premiers, and an occasional KeahiAlan special.
They have been hosts to such distinguished guests as Giovanna, WhooFartd,
Hoyle, the profesr and even the Pope, as well as scumbags like myself.
(Hopefully Hoyle will return before next sweep week arrives).

This brings us to the point that should have been obvious from the start:
People who like adversarial situations (as in ladder games) also like
adversarial entertainment. If this isn't you, then what are ya doing here?
