We have people who want to always go for the easy way: maximum number of games or tournaments in the shortest possible time. Then we have also people who value the aesthetical values of game, be it Spades, Pool, Chess or whatever.

Do i want to play blitz Spades with 300 pts and lame fantasy settings?

Do i want to play Regular Spades of 500 pts with no hand limit and only normal NIL bid allowed instead of lame 200 bid NIL bid?

This same applies very much to TDs and their work: instead of running 1,500 single elimination tournaments how about running 50 DE, 50 Swiss and 50 True Swiss 5-rounds tourneys? Yes there's a huge difference in statistics -

A) 1,500 SE tournaments
B) 150 DE, Swiss, True Swiss 5-rounds tournaments

In my opinion TD "A" should be kicked because of lack of imagination and passion for game. On the other hand, TD "B" deserves every possible Case's Ribbon and applause for his passion and efforts.

This same applies to players as well :)
