Im sure the funcom click would list great friends to this list, but thats not going to help the ladder grow with new players. : : Cons of Spades (CLO): : : o this site is "busy" if it gets 3 games going at the same time. More often it is stagnant most of the day. : : A majority of the GOOD players such as Doom-train, Milady, looney-toons, etc etc etc, have withdrawn and stopped wasting their time coming here. Why bother? Other sites have dozens, if not hundreds of games going on at all times, with better features. : : o Some user(s) are trying to get what sparse numbers there are here to migrate to their own little(smaller!) private room on "flipside", so they can have "the old funcom rules" back. Who cares? like LESS people is what you need right now. Support the site or post your point of view on the forum and leave, but dont sit here and actively sabatoge this site. : : o The term "#1" in this ladder is a meaningless joke. (Heck, I've held it. lol) But seriously... More than once, players that can't even muster a 50% win record and have earned a skill rating WORSRE than "NEW PLAYER" (1500) have been "#1".. ROFLMFAO. Any given sunday, my friends. : : Top 5 doesnt mean much here, like it does on a ladder for a game you play one-on-one and that is based mainly on consistant skill and performance as the "ladder" was first designed for. (not on being dealt a no brainer nil, 6 bids, or the opps getting team 2 bids multiple times by random luck or lack thereof) : : o When you are rated in the top 5, certain people will hound you to play... usually twice EVERY day,(and sometimes even three times in a day, against the rules,) not caring that others deserve a chance at advancement too! You know who you are.. : : Well congrads, those players have been and will continue to keep climbing into the top 5 - several will no doubt make it to #1. (Though one has slipped to 20 - must have been getting lazy.) Sadly, very few earn it from consistant skill; most from just playing the numbers game. : : o For comic relief, Here's a good chuckle; there is a user I played against like clockwork, very often twice a day.. God forbid I take a 2 day break after playing them like 10 days IN A ROW... they go and issue a "formal challenge" to me, like I was a hard guy to find. lol. Perhaps the formal challenge needs to have an additional clause: "You may not Formal Challenge people you that have played more than 20 times this month." : : o For the majority of y'all, you are legends in your own minds. Ignore your ladder rung standing for a moment. Just take a peek at your win %, folks. : : If it is under 60%, chances are you are not nearly as good as you think you are, or you'd be winning at least 60%, don't you think? (if its 66% or higher, now you're talking. congrads!) : : REALITY CHECK. If it is UNDER 50%, that means that odds are you are about to LOSE any given game you play. "Not a great player" is pretty much a given at that point, so..... "Stop making excuses" and face reality, ok? : : o People give you grief when you politely decline to Partner with players who can't count, bid desperation-type nils when you're winning by 200++ points, have no clue in the end game how to bid & play based on the scoreboard, and have a win ratio well below 50% (...what a surprise?) I'd say "you know who you are", but the sad part is y'all probably don't - I have a list of over 30 people I would never P again, including a few whom i beat down and praised God they were not on my team, for once. : : At any rate, thanks gang, but I'm not interested in a "game" with random partners like that. My time would be better spent watching the grass grow; it would be more "fun". : : o Have you looked at the portrait selection lately? Gawd, it might be better to just eliminate avatars completely until you at least have an bona-fide "selection" to choose from. I feel sorry for all the women who most relate to "surfer.jpg". (let alone 15,000+++++ to cash in? ) : : Heck I won and placed in several tournaments, and played here as if it were my full time job, mor ethan 8 hours a day most days; more games and more Tourney wins than any average user with a job possibly could ever hope to do, and what do i got, like 450 after all this time? IF i play for only like 6 more YEARS, FULL TIME I might win an autographed book..yay? : : Don't insult our intelligence with ladder buxx. oh, maybe I will pay to go Gold, so I can win it twice as fast, in only like 3 years instead? : : Naaah. Like we care about who is or isnt loving who, or what drug induced hallucinations you've had, or what Bad thing happened to you 5/10/20 years ago.. get a therapist, or at least the right forum, not our Gaming forum...
